Lonely Clay Origins

Lonely Clay was founded in Brooklyn, NY in 2016 by artist and teacher, Sarah Stevens. In 2022, LC moved their ceramics studio to Lowell, Massachusetts and now enjoys creating one-of-a-kind sculptural ceramic works, focusing on unique pieces that explore texture, shape, and the beauty of raw materials. Lonely Clay celebrates the artistry of ceramics through works that transcend function, offering pieces that evoke emotion and add a touch of whimsy.

The Request

Our goal with this branding project was to create a brand identity that highlighted Sarah’s unique sculptural work, the materials and the quiet practice of creating with clay.

Radiant Reflections From Lonely Clay

“Working with Soleil Design Co was an easy choice— we knew of her work from another friend in the ceramics business and fell in love with her creativity and smart approach to brand strategy and identity. She actively listens and through patient discovery and artistic exploration, highlighted special details to set my brand apart. I love the hand-drawn feeling of the font she chose as it reflects my interest in the concept of time and hand-made art. Her work is thoughtful, balanced, and beautiful — so happy with our new identity, website and brand accents!”
