This ocean-side one-bedroom in the Rockaways was reimagined for short-term guests with comfort, functionality, and style in mind. My client, who works remotely, wanted to make their home appealing to visitors while maximizing usability for themselves when they’re there.

The ask
My client, like many remote workers today, wanted to start working from different locations around the world while hosting guests in their home.
They enlisted my help to prepare their ocean-side one-bedroom for Airbnb, including listing guidance, hosting best practices, spatial planning, and professional photography. Working with their existing furnishings and color palette, we created a cohesive, inspiring, and easy-to-maintain space that appeals to guests while supporting the homeowner’s lifestyle.

Space Planning and Layout Design

Every successful short-term rental starts with thoughtful planning. I worked closely with my client to understand their goals for hosting, then transformed their one-bedroom ocean-side home into a welcoming, functional, and photogenic space.

We reimagined the layout to create multi-use areas and improve flow, decluttered and organized for a clean, airy feel, and strategically used color, light, and details to highlight the apartment’s charm.

The home now shines in photos and offers a thoughtful, welcoming experience for guests, while still supporting the lifestyle and work needs of the homeowner.
